I use it to regulate a solar panel for battery maintenance in a RoadTrek RV that is parked away from AC electricity source.
Radio shack provided a nice cigarette lighter type plug-in connector and I had on hand some appropriate marine 12 V. insulated wire so installation was quite simple.The solar panel sits on the dash when in use.
